*Merry Batmas!!!*

As I said last week, we're taking a break for the holidays for most of this month. But instead of leaving you without any video to watch, I figured why not promote a video from one year ago that I'm sure most of you probably haven't seen: The Silent Night of the Batman!

Next week we'll be back with a brand new Batman Christmas comic episode of #ComicMisconceptions, but for now enjoy this golden nugget from 2013!

I got the date wrong in the video. January 13th is a Monday. So we will actually be taking a break until January 15th. My bad.

Also we are having a giveaway of two Batman vol. 1 books if we get 1000 subscribers by the new year! Go to the video below to find out more!

I think the 3 stories are a representation of the change Batman wants to cause in Gotham.

1. He wants to become a symbol that inspires people to do good. He doesn't want kids to become criminals like the guy who killed his parents. So here, kids who would have become criminals in the future decided to turn their lives around and not become criminals because of Batman (feeling guilty after seeing the Batman action figure).

2. He wants to rid Gotham of crime and violence. "Keep Gotham City Clean." He wants those who are already criminals to turn their lives around. Again, the guy feels guilty and throws away his gun after seeing "Batman".

3. Now that kids have a positive role model and criminals are changing their ways, nobody has to lose a loved one to violence anymore, hence the girl's husband coming back home alive. I think the bat image in the water is meant to represent that Batman is there for Gotham trying to make a difference. After showing that image, her husband immediately comes back as if assuring us that Batman has indeed made a difference. Literally after "Batman" appeared, her husband came home alive.

In all three stories, there was a positive change after Batman arrives. This is what Batman strives for.

Loved seeing you over-analyze the poop out of that story! And you won't be getting any complaints from me about a few weeks without CM. I'm actually going back to school myself, so I know the stress that may bring up. Good luck this semester and I look forward to all that  you all will bring in the upcoming year!

I hadn't thought of it for years but I actually read this story in a reprint of old Christmas stories DC did years ago.

4:08 old video I know, but I think this is plausible to think Batman dreamt he was still singing. I'm not sure how frequent it is, but if I fall asleep around a bunch of noise (usually out of fatigue or exhaustion), I still hear the noise around me despite my eyes being closed and head being down. Sometimes I think I'm still awake because I can hear everything so clearly and my mind remembers where I am ad what I've been doing. This type of sleeping usually happens without much conscious warning - one minute I'm awake, the next my eyes and head are down. I don't think it's a condition or severe, as it doesn't happen every time I sleep or every time I'm around a crowd of people full of noise. Simply put, Batman in the company of caroling was falling asleep and imagined in his dream that he was still awake.

These very odd yet thought provoking type DC stories in Batman and Superman from the 70's & 80's got me hooked on DC Comics. Batman Annual Vol 1 #9. July, 1985 THE FOUR FACES OF BATMAN - The Child, The Avenger, The Detective, The Man. It has 4 stories showing those 4 sides of him and I read that over and over because it's was so damn good and satisfying. The one about "The Child" focusing the pain of his parents loss got me in the feels every time.
