With the Shure Motiv app, the Shure MV7 sounds 10x better.

Your Yeti is more muddy and lower volume (possibly deeper bass tones). The Shure sounds clearer and higher volume. Would love a Yeti comparison with the Shure MV7 (w/ the Shure Motiv app).

Mic 2 was 100% much clearer, I guessed it was the Shure. I've been using the Yeti myself for a while but I'm keen to upgrade as I just find I have too many issues with the audio and it's become a long term nuisance causing multiple retakes for audio. It's time for it to go. Thanks for the comparison.

The way that I look at Blue Yeti is, even though it’s design hasn’t really been changed in over a decade and a half, and it doesn’t have the latest and greatest features, it’s ole’ reliable and it never lets you down. It just always works.

Thanks for making this! I’m currently considering the MV7 myself. You may want to check out the RK345 windscreen for the SM7B. Some people have found it helps with plosives on the MV7. And I also try to go for quality for anything that I haven’t deemed a “disposable.”

I have both microphones too. Just bought the MV7. I agree, the MV7 is better. If you want a good USB microphone for plug and play usage, the MV7 is your mic. You have the option to use XLR and the wind screen will cut back on your plosives. I'm loving it so far.

I totally rely on my Yeti for ASMR videos and it died on me just as I started recording yesterday! 😭 now I'm frantically trying to decide what to buy next so I can order it ASAP and get back to recording. I think I might upgrade to the Shure. Thanks for this info!

I immediately could tell the difference between the mics.

I’ve been using a blue yeti mic for the last 4 years solid. Gotten thousands of streaming hours on it and content put out. Loved the mic. But it finally broke! Sound stopped being recorded. Time for a new one.

Wanted to see if I should upgrade and you convinced me. The shure mic sounds much crisper.

And when you factor the thousands of hours I’ve put in… it’s absolutely worth the $250.

I thought mic 1 was the Shure and mic 2 was the Yeti. Mic 2 definitely sounded a lot better. I think this video definitely helped me with my decision to switch to Shure, especially since it's on sale now.

Solid comparison! Personally, I actually prefer the yeti sound, it has a little more in the low end and seems to handle plosives a little better. It doesn't have as many controls or features, but I do like it's sound signature better
