BBC Top of the Pops Christmas Special 1974.

Recorded at Television Centre in Studio ‘TC 8’ - now demolished.
It’s the same studio that ‘Faulty Towers’ and ‘I Claudius’ were made.
EMI 2001 cameras were used for this recording, and this is the closest available rendition on YouTube to the original master-tape recorded on Ampex Quad.

This is an 'as live studio' recording with an orchestra backing the singers.

The first time I heard this song was Dec 1974 I had just met my future husband. After a few dates this song came on the radio. The rest is history. I still love this song and think of my late husband when I hear it.

I was an 8 year old boy in 1974. Great times to live with these songs. Now I'm 55 and I'm listening to them again to bring some happiness from my childhood days.
