Saudi Arabia has launched a project claiming to transport people into the future. The officials also added that it will be the largest city the world has ever seen.

The Mukaab project focuses on sustainable neighborhoods and provides residents in each neighborhood with access to housing, employment, and entertainment opportunities within a 15-minute walking radius. These accessible living spaces will be connected via public transportation to 100,000 residential units and 9,000 hotel rooms, and special community facilities. So, does the fact that this project is about building an ample and smart living space is enough to make it iconic? Of course not! it’s The Mukaab: an advanced technological structure planned to be 400 meters(1312 feet) long, wide, and high. To put it into perspective, let us tell you this: You can fit precisely 20 Empire State buildings in The Mukaab. Saudi Arabia brings technological innovation and sustainability together in the middle of the desert, not only with The Mukaab project but also with the Neom project.

With these two projects, the iconic buildings of the future are cities that provide sustainable living spaces to the world population.

The reason it scared me a lot was for how I remembered the Hadith of the Prophet that closer to the end of times, towards the Day of Judgement, people will rush to compete in making tall buildings and advanced technology. He gave birth to what Francis Fukuyuma once said for how eutopia will be maintained at a certain level but before that, science, technology, infrastructure, democracy, capitalism, etc will keep rising. With what is happening in Palestine and the genocide going on there, Saudia Arabia could have used those funds to launch a full war on Israel and save the old and weak people there, the pregnant women whose stomachs are being blasted during the genocide causing them to lose their foetuses, the little babies and thousands of martyrs. Where the focus, being a Muslim nation, should have been there, they are busy competing in making large structures, which frankly, seem so useless and a waste of literally everything. People tend to forget that we are mere travellers, that this world is a bridge to Allah and that no person ever builds their home on a bridge, then why here? Why such forgetfulness? Why such apathy? Why such arrogance and ignorance?
