Is your clutch slipping???

I love how people are freaking out about the fuel gauge.
There is about 10liters left in the tank.
I have an Imp and have driven around with it on E and had 5l left in the tank.
There is some safety margin on the fuel gauge.
The GE Impreza fuel tank holds about 60liters.

When I was driving a motorcycle the same event happened to me at a higher speed. The RPMs went high but the bike wasnt accelerating...it wasnt the clutch slipping, it was the rear wheel barely gripping the road. That was pretty scary.

I experienced this. It started after I did a very amateur and smelly hill start. I had to use very little gas to drive without slipping. Best part was, as soon as I showed it to a mechanic, it stopped slipping because it automatically tightened the clutch cable

I made it 192, 000 miles on my original clutch in my ‘05 Focus ST. It finally started to slip at the end of it’s life, but ultimately the rust took that car to it’s grave.

It's just a really slow torque converter for manual transmissions. Nothing to worry about.

Man I remember driving my Mazda 3 with a bad clutch to school and the school was on top of a giant hill, it was damn near impossible to get up the hill

Just so y'all know, it's torque and not power that makes your worn out clutch slip. So when in need of power, use a lower gear, as for the same transmitted torque, you'll have more usable power ;)

For anyone experiencing this, the absolute worst thing you can do is ignore it and keep driving. I did this with my car and not only had to replace the clutch, but also the flywheel which had been melted by the clutch dripping burning stuff on it.
