Andrewsarchus, the terrifying extinct carnivore of Mongolia

Показать описание
Andrewsarchus (name meaning "Andrews' Beast") is a genus of large carnivorous mammal that originated during the Middle Eocene epoch (about 40 mya) in what is now Asia and Africa. The apex terrestrial predator of the Eocene, standing over 2 meters tall, measuring 6 meters long, and weighing about a ton, this predatory mammal was more closely related to hoofed animals, despite its outwardly canine-like appearance.
