If you stop to think about it, it’s not that much more eerie than modern animals. The only difference is we’re more used to the sounds of modern animals. With no knowledge of what they are a crocodile’s hiss, dog’s howl or even a cow’s moo would all sound scary. Imagine you’re walking through a field with no knowledge of what cows are and you suddenly hear a cow’s low pitched moo. At the end of the day, dinosaurs were never supposed to be scary. They were animals no different from those of today. That’s not to say they would have been safe to be around. Wild animals are wild animals after all.
