Altered Images and a favourite track, indeed a favourite piece of avant-musical art, ‘A Days Wait’. Yes art, for many reasons but if you like the things I do, you’ll immediately hear a whole load of rules breaking. The intro makes you think the song is going to arrive any minute but just like the eponymous train being sung of, it’s annoyingly late and gonna make you wait. There’s just so much thought agitating guitar resonating in the speedily strumming architecture of this tune, making what we hear somehow instantly familiar yet sinisterly surreal. Clare Grogan’s vocal seemingly too young for the width ‘n’ breadth of the sonic landscape, I believe it’s piquantly trying to piss off (perfectly pitched adulting juvenilia). I adore the scathingly trilled lyrics to this, how about absurd information and deceptively one-note meaning they are, but they’re not are they? This song is a glorious paradox, what does work and doesn’t work in perfect/imperfect full on collision. I think these lyrics a short yet at the same time interminable sojourn of fantastic poetry. “A days wait because my trains late, my train it didn’t come, it just didn’t come.” Glorious! Gx

Sorry it has taken me 5 years to reply but I have been trying to save the last of the Saharan Rain Forest. Sadly I couldn't find it. The 1st album was deffo my fave. Given the limitations of Clare's voice the producers role was always a big one and I prefer the Severin influence. The band seemed to have a bit more identity then. Not that the latter records we not great (with the exception of song sung blue which was not an exercise in irony but should have been) and Clare's smile is wonderful. I saw it close up once just off the King's Road and... thanks for posting!

@Frege100 haha, yeah true. hey if your a fan of there other stuff subscribe to my channel. It has every track plus bonus's off there first two albums plus this week i will be uploading there last ever album "Bite" with bonus tracks.Then after that the john peel sessions by them too. If you just like this track then no worries but i recomend giving the "Pinky Blue" album a listen. Its got some stunning tracks on that one. Thanks for viewing my vid anyway.
