Kudos for adding chapters for each recommended game, and including the game title for each chapter. Being able to easily find and identify a recommended title is the main point of these sorts of lists, which sadly is often overlooked in other videos.

A few of my favourite games i used to play on my Amiga 1200 Dreamweb, Elite 2, UFO Enemy Unknown. Subwar 2050 and Ishar rpg trilogy

Thanks for this. Great list. As someone who grew up with the A500, and only got an A1200 a few years ago, I've found it difficult to see and appreciate the point of difference when it comes to graphics. The games you've highlighted really do make those improvements stand out. Subbed.

I'm loving the memories and nostalgia your videos bring me! A500+ ex owner in the 90s 😊

There where plenty of games I wish got a 1200 upgrade. Like Moonstone? Imagine that with some enhancements...and shadow of the beast. They could be some of the best looking games of the era. And the Mortal Kombat+ Street Fighter 2 games should have had proper A1200 versions. They needed it!

Great list. I'm glad that you also enjoyed Jurassic Park, it's one of my favourites, and I have been similarly scared by the raptor attacks. On the A500 version the window is very small in the 3D sections. I have been intending to give Exile a go at some point, and after seeing this video it will definitely be the AGA version that I play.

Great video, agree with your take on Alien Breed 2 for sure

if you revisit this it would be good to do a side by side of the games for more context. 500 vs 1200 ECS vs AGA etc.

I loved monkey island 2 when I swapped from my a500+ to my a1200 with its hdd. The game just played so much faster and smoother :).

Civ AGA was great, but even greater after using Galahads hex edit hack, which made it run so much smoother and faster! I owe him loads of gratitude.

Hi mate,
Greetings from Australia.
Love the shirt.
I grew up with the Amstrad CP4 464 and currently have been having fun playing all the Amstrad, C64 and and Amiga games on the Amiga mini.
They look incredible on an OLED.

I also was just recently reading that one of the most popular games that started life on the Amiga being ‘Lemmings’ was actually based on a lie perpetrated by Disney where in 1958 they pushed a bunch of lemmings off a cliff and pretended to viewers that they had jumped to their death.

This led to the misbelief that Lemmings naturally do this when none of it was true.

Just think as cruel as that stunt was it did lead to something for it’s time that would be akin to Minecraft in popularity today.

Any remakes should include Easter eggs collections. Not only it pays homage to the original, it also provide greater pleasure collecting these.

As a side note quite a number of games played faster on an A1200 (especially if you add extra RAM) also making them better. Almost all flight sims are faster and smoother, some racing games are given a speed boost like Geoff Crammond F1GP but my favorite is Syndicate.

I remember that I hated BloodNet on the 500 but loved it on the 1200. A cool game that it seems hardly anyone played. 😅

Hired Guns was the reason a1200 existed. To not have it on the list is criminal.

The A1200 was designed to be the next-gen Amiga by Commodore. I also saw it that way, but unfortunately it didn't turn out to be a big leap forward from the A500. While the AGA graphics chipset was a major upgrade, the 68020 CPU wasn't. The CPU couldn't compete with the Intel 486 PCs, which took over the computer gaming market.

I did not know Exile, which might be a very interesting game 🙂

Great video but maybe side by side comparison would of been better, shadow fighter I struggled to see much difference to be honest

Loved the amiga but most aga ports lazy and very few even attempted to utilise the added horse power, suprised no soccer kid, brian the lion

As u say, the fan remake of turrican 2 just stunning

Good list of games there. I would also mention the enhanced version of Nigel Mansell World Championship, Pinball Fantasies and PGA European Tour as good examples as well.

I know you've mentioned a few times the common complaint people have voiced that the Addams Family has no parallax scrolling background like the SNES version. It's a pity ocean didn't re-visit the game for the AGA and add those backgrounds in as well as enjoy the full pallette of colours to enhance that game as I think that would have went well. I would also have loved to have seen them go back and do a full 256 colour version of the first 2 Monkey Island games.
