8 NEW PIGEONS ( VDB X )

You all seen the 2 new male van den bulck pigeons we have brought into our loft! now we have 8 more of them which are all the young from these 2 males! im hoping to break them in as they have not been out much at the other loft due to work commitments! but we may set them down on some eggs before we try fly them!

The 8 offspring are a cross of houben & gaby with the 2 pure van den bulck pigeons!

I think the tiger grizzel's will lay eggs again before you take back, try to foster they eggs intro your birds.. so when they leave you will have another 2 eggs from them.. under one of your breeding pairs

Man I cnt wait for another loft building video. Looking forward to your next expansion on your lofts. I was also having a problem with losing babies to hawks. I recently added a large aviary for the young birds. Seems to be helping train the babies up and get them more street smart.

With so many pigeons missing after each toss, wise idea to invest in 8 + 2 birds for now. To teach them of the topography you need to put a cage on the roof with the new birds for atleast 3 - 4 weeks to learn the area well & map the

I love pieds for sure. I was given this advice once by a champion racer. Not to say there is anything wrong with purchasing stock pigeons as we must, however he says... go to the top 3 fanciers or so and buy a set of 10 birds each from their best you can afford or as an investment so that gives you around 30 top youngers or so and race them ... from there select your stock birds. That's one really really good bit of advice I got. Many people buy stock birds that have not proven anything and hold onto them for years because of the bloodline and many many of them end up being mediocre. No one will sell you their stock birds that are breeding winners for them. You might find such a fancier but who will sell their winning line of stock birds. They will sell you a baby off that young bird that mostly have not raced consistently in the top 5 or 10 in the union or club ... anyways just sharing my experience in this bit of advice I was given and which works well for many.
