The lighting of their helmets is unreal. I absolutely love the shot of them looking down the passage and also of their eyes in the dark. Can't wait for more.

Beautiful art and creepy atmosphere. I especiially like how you didn't show too much of the monster and let the characters' actions show how powerful that creature is. I suspect, with the scene of the birth and mention of "the gate" that this is going to have some similarities with "The Dunwich Horror".

I love when Youtube noticing I am watching a certain genre for an hour and sends me to these channels. I doubt I would have found this if Youtube did not recommend it and it is really good.

As an avid connoisseur of Cosmic Horror, Ambient and Dark Ambient music I have to say the soundtrack is amazingly chosen!

6:26 gives me the same kind of feeling as the end of this Lovecraftian horror novel I read I think could maybe be useful to you creatively:
"The [submarine] surfaced. The Heavens flinched.
The hatch swung open.
Moonlight fell upon its darkest cargo.
What shambled forth was unspeakable."
End of novel.
This novel managed to make a pair of eldritch gods called "The Fig Men" genuinely terrifying ("There's no monsters, Zach, they're just figments of your imagination"). I love the way these godlike beings were written, they feel real and organic, these ancient fiends that crave chaos and madness. Lots of body horror, dangerous levels of description, and a unique setting. The Deep, by Nick Cutter (pen name). I am Chris Mastro, and not a 25+ yo Craig Davidson, I did not write this.

I love this animation style!! Haunting, gorgeous and yet leaves a lot to the imagination - is any good cosmic horror should. I specifically like the dust in debris, moving by quickly, the POV shots, the bloody hands, and especially the internal lighting inside the helmet – looks fantastic.
And this sound design was amazing. Very visceral. I can't wait to continue watching the series.

Perfect capture of the Cosmic Horror feel!

So rare that anybody gets it this right.

Despite the fact that this was...less of an animation and more like a digital diorama...this had extremely good use of lighting, especially since the biggest character of them all was the darkness. At first I was getting serious SCP vibes, but that quickly dissipated when one of the SCAPE suited spelunkers whipped out a blowtorch to "get a sample" the size of a finger joint (I guess there's no need to check it for organics ;p).

This gave me serious 2015-era "anime" that were very much like this, series like Yami Shibai and Kagewani, that had decent voice acting and excellent atmosphere but questionable plots and whimsical pacing.
