In this video,I'm showing you my 1978 Honda Express 50 Moped(NC50). It's all original, runs and rides great. The single speed variable transmission makes a smooth and quick acceleration. These Moped are Highly Recommended,I think anyways. Japanese Built( Bullet Proof)! ! Thanks for watching and check out my other Scooter Video's.

I just got a 1980 model from the original owner with 1160 miles on it. Been sitting in storage for the past 25 years, has spark tires hold air, so hopefully after I get the gas tank cleaned out check the carburetor I believe it'll run. looking forward to playing with it. Glad to see there's still people out there who enjoy these little scooters.

I had an orange one first year in college. In CA they were still classified as a motorcycle: insurance, license and all so I just drove it with one eye out for the fuzz. My oil tank developed a leak into the fuel tank so it always smoked like a chimney. Ended up running a can for the oil tank strapped under the seat.

We had one of those back in '78 till about '84. Top speed was 30mph...downhill with a tailwind, LOL! We live in a hilly area so 30 was usually only attained going downhill. Uphill it might have went 10 mph. Still beat walking though.

Very cool. I had that same year, brand new when I was 10. But mine was green. Very fun little bike, I rode that thing all the time, mostly off-road on trails. Then in '81 my Dad bought me a Suzuki TS100 which was awesome and I loved that bike even more, and it was lot faster!

i had a 1977 honda express i bought used in the late 1980s and had low miles on it. and rode hell out of it and got a couple good years out of it. and overall they were very decent mopeds easy to maintain. the only thing i didn't like more or less was the kick start wind-up mechanism because if it didn't start up right away or stay running like it should etc.... using that kind of means to start a moped could be quite annoying and frustrating. LOL! but i must admit the kick start wind-up always functioned and worked like it was supposed to. lot of good memories with that moped and i'm now 53 years old.. thanks for the video!

I had one and put an expansion chamber on it and ran it on a hot plug with 110 octane airplane gas, It melted at 50 mph.

My first ‘bike’ when I was 16, back in 1978. Even at 16 I was 15lb over the rider recommended weight without riding gear and my back pack. Doing 25miles a day to work and back I ran it into the ground in 6 months. 😕🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I had a 1977 in Parrot Green. Put 2500 miles on it before I got my regular drivers license. Rode it to 5K before I sold it.

I saw one of these used as a decoration today except it had apparently been converted to an electric moped (which Honda has yet to market) It clearly looked like same bike except it had a giant hub on the rear wheel which obviously was it's motor ...In place of the fuel tank it appears to have a battery case probably a modified gas tank....there was no gas engine to be seen and it actually had bicycle crank and pedals chain drive to a jack shaft and clank clutch or bike freewheel kind thing maybe?? ....I just saw some web links to electric conversion kits for these so prolly what I saw ...was all old and weathered however was not anything done recently ! LOL tires dry rotted and paint faded it was outside a beer bar up on a roof thingy...pretty cool though! I actually mistook it for a Honda Cub from a distance....! I could not understand why I never heard of such! Web search provided the Answer Honda never sold such a bike! People converted them to electric instead of trashing them ....maybe/probably when the original 2 stroke motors totally wore out after only one or two years or a thousand or so milesetc....Side note My brother totally wore out a 50cc moped in late 70's within 6 months of everyday) ....I.m sure Honda stopped selling parts for the Express decades ago...would not be worth trying to rebuild a well worn one is my guess

🤣😂🤣 my dad once bought one of those for my mum to go to her job on but on first ride she went straight through neighbours hedge and got real mad at my dad before telling him to shove it where the sun don't shine. !!! 😂🤣😂🤣

I used Klotz Techniplate synthetic in the injector tank.

That’s a great video. I just saw one for sale with 300 original miles for $1200. It seems worth it but will it do more than 30 mph? On the flat that is?

Scooter buddy! I also live in MN but not in the twin cities. My father however does. I own 2 of these and the 1979 was a parts one in bad condition. My second one needs the gaskets replaced. I was recently given for free a Trac Olympic but oh boy it needs A LOT of love. Hey do you think we could keep in touch?
