She also continued to do work on converting the motel, and who knows what else, all while waiting for *five years* for her man to be released? Extraordinary! I want to see her interview and her daily life!

My hometown in New Zealand planted a Californian Redwood Forest in 1899/1900. They were trialling exotic tree species and the Redwoods loved their new home. The Redwoods are a major tourist destination with walking and mountain bike trails and tree top canopy walks. It’s a magical forest pumping out cool clean air with crystal clear streams at their base. My go to when I’m visiting. My part time home in Australia is a hippie town established in1974. Renowned for dope growing and raids every year (illegal still) it is similar to Humboldt. Artists galore, home grown organic produce sold weekly in town, drumming sessions Friday evenings, community togetherness, neighbourly help/gatherings and indigenous first people living in a mish mash of harmony. Thanks Peter for another great insight of America. PS: NZ’s logging industry also took a hammering and similar hard drug’s took a hold. Worldwide problem, unfortunately.
