Done correctly a Dominator is Great. Years ago I converted a 9375 to a 2 circuit and put it on a customer's 467 with 049 heads and a very mild flat tappet hydraulic camshaft 10 to 1 and headers with full exhaust in a 57 2 door wagon. It's been a while but I do think it was a single plane intake. The car has full interior, 4.10 gears and 28 inch drag radials. It drives on the street with super good manners gets 15+ mpg and runs consistent 11.50 no complaints with a Dominator.

This is a great test. I'm building a Gen VI 509 now with an Edelbrock C454 dominator dual plane and have a similar 1.5" 4 into 1 spacer and I was wondering what it might do. This is the closest test I've seen to what I'm planning on doing, so thank you. P.S. your pal DV says Edelbrock needs to make a 4500 Performer RPM Air Gap and I agree.

I’ve been running a Blue Thunder 4500 dual plane on my 557….it’s a beast! 💪🏻

That's CRAZY!
Excellent video.
Thanks!!

Imagine if Edelbrock made an SBC/BBC 4500 intake based on the Performer RPM but with longer runners. Max torque at 3500-5500 for a boat. No hood to worry about!

On the very restricted circle track motors they often require a “stock” distributor. A knowledgeable distributor guy can recurve a stock distributor and make the car JUMP off the turns. Works on dirt or pavement.

As far as I’m concerned a strong big block must have a dominator. They look killer too.

I never would have guessed this would work, but i also really like the HVH Super Sucker spacers .

Thanks for the test! The 1050 dominator has an ideal venturi shape...the 4150 is way larger than it was ever meant to be. Even larger doms don't work as well as the 1050. Dragboss garage had the designer talk about the tweaks you can do to make the 1050 work perfectly. It will definitely drive better than the 4150.

I have a 9377 1150 cfm dominator on a very mild 428 Pontiac. 5800 rpm combo and it runs fantastic on the street!

That is nuts! I thought it was an anomaly however proven here. Now I wonder how much I have left on the table by choosing a 4150. I wonder if it's more with more displacement. Thank you for all you do sir!😂

That's a big difference throughout the curve

Eric, please point out for the uninformed that the flow rating of the 1050 4150 carb is at a test pressure that sells carburetors
The Venturi diameter doesn’t lie
