As someone in my 50s with thick, natural curly hair that most brushes don't work well on thank you for having a variety of brushes. I would suggest 2 things though. First- the brush with the little balls on the end- it looks like some of the balls are missing & when they're missing the bristle can really hurt &/or scratch the scalp. Second- wood brushes with a flexible cushion pad the bristles attach to & bamboo bristles work really well on long, thick &/or curly hair.

I was terrified of the dark when I was little, which makes complete sense when I look at what was going on in my life, but we weren't allowed night lights or lamps on during the night. I was supposed to grow up and grow out of it and get used to sleeping in the dark. I remember getting into trouble because a neighbour complained that I had the light on at night and it was shining into her window, so I had to go back to not sleeping well during the night and being scared of the dark because my mother cared more about what other people think than her own children's comfort.

This is how foster parenting should be done. Bravo. I absolutely love how you give the kids choices and options for things. It gives them a sense of control which in turn brings at least some semblance of comfort. Which is so important when everything else or at least most things are uncertain and messy and out of their control

You brighten my day every post. Thank you for your gentle kindness to these humans! I pray to re-create even a fraction of what you do for the population.

As a solo young female that wants nothing more than be a foster mom, I thank you for posting so much informational content. You truly are an inspiration. ❤

As someone who's got black nieces I appreciate the tons of different brushes. They can't just use any brush and also needing specific shampoos etc. You seem like an amazing foster mom, if I could mentally and physically handle it I'd do it when I got my own place but I get attached to animals and kids really easily. They're just so precious and I'd mentally go off the deep end when they find they forever family or go back to their parents! Keep up the amazing work!

Ngl I would love to be in a place with nightlights
I tend to, hallucinate in the dark (it gets bad) so I used to sleep with the TV on
Then I found a sky light that I just adored and stopped sleeping with the TV on

Sky lights are absolutely worth it to buy, so gorgeous

The containers alone are such a beautiful touch. All of my things were transported in black trash bags (and I moved placements a lot)

Thanks for taking such great care of those kids. Sometimes it takes someone really kind to make them believe again.

as a kid we had a foster child, my parents always wanted to adopt him but wer unable to.
I guess that didn't matter much to me because I'm 50 now and I've seen him as my brother sense 1980.

all the money our parents got for taking care of him went towards his college when he graduated from highschool.

Steve is my brother and nothing can change that.

That's interesting that you have HP Instant Ink. I signed up for the free trial, but it just didn't work for me. They never actually sent ink when I needed it, and it was a long run-around on the phone to get that rectified, and then a week or two before it actually arrived, AND they sent me a threatening e-mail when I bought my own ink, so I cancelled my subscription and went back to buying ink cartridges the normal way.
