Hey Clay, finished installing the front rear brackets, driver and passenger. They went in just as described, perfectly in about 2 hours each side. I had never welded before. I bought a 110v mig welder from harbor freight, bought an "open box" for $119. Payment was by Paypal and easy. Shipping was super fast. The instructions and videos are important to view, excellent kit. Would do it again.

I just finished installing the front rear controller arm bracket. Pretty straight forward job even for me, a not too skilled welder. The bracket feels so solid when I drive. My daughter recently purchased the car and we didn't realize the frame was bad and the controlling arm bracket detached in the front within weeks of getting the car. I felt terrible as I recommended the car. I did the fix and the car is back on the road -- I'm so relieved.

Just got done installing these. Once you get all the old parts out of the way these slide in and fit perfectly. Saved my wife’s car from the junk yard. 100% recommend buying these from Clay if you have this problem, he is super easy to deal with and very helpful. Thanks again Clay!!

So last week I started hearing the 'clunk' from my back passenger wheel, and assumed it was just a worn bushing or maybe the bump stop for the shock gave up. Looked underneath today and the trailing arm front bolt was just floating where the mount point on the frame used to be. Clay, you would have ABSOLUTELY saved my 2007 Equinox LT from the junkyard if a rotten trailing arm mount was the only problem. Sadly, there's a bit more to it...

-back passenger shock gave up long ago
-front shocks are also well past their service life
-AT LEAST TWO wheel bearings have been howling for months, if the other two are starting to go there's no way I'd hear it
-Trailing arm rust is just the first of five rust spots I had expected to give out by July (one being on the fuel line)
-Upgraded motor mounts with bluetooth rubber bushings
-Under my ownership, the motor has only received plugs and wires once, an alternator rebuild, two serpentine belts, an idler pully, an EGR valve, and oil changes at intervals.. sometimes 3-5k, sometimes 15k. No clue when the timing was done last or IF it was ever done
-1/3 of the driver seat cushion has worn away, and half of my butt is just sitting on the wire springs of the seat

Bought her summer 2020 at 144k miles for $400. Sounds cheap, but the heater core was bad (DDx was head blown head gasket, which I could have done myself instead of paying the Chevy stealership wizards to professionally rip out and reinstall the dash). Was a wonderful car after that, kinda fun for being essentially a glorified minivan and damn near bulletproof - the metal body of the ECU shorted out against the battery terminals one time, huge spark but the ECU was unbothered.

Just a little over 237, 1XX on the clock today. A sad end to an era, but this bookmark will come in handy if I ever come across a Theta that's actually worth saving. I could do this kind of repair in my sleep

Keep up the good work :)

I put finished installing the front single bolt brackets in a 12 terrien. They work awesome and isn't super complicated with the instruction video. Once you cut the old out, you see exactly where the brackets need to go, and can't mess it up if you can follow instructions. This was a customer of mine that just paid $6, 000 for the vehicle 4 months ago, and it was basically junk without these. I tell customers bring a vehicle in for a pre-purchase inspection and they could avoid this stuff. I Definitely would recommend these to anyone

Just got done replacing the driver side front bracket for the rear trailing arm using Clay's bracket on my wife's 2012 Equinox. I've never welded before, but I am a very good learner and do have some soldering, woodwork and general repair and maintenance type stuff around the house and car. Basically I'm always looking to learn new skills that will help me out in life. I would not have thought I could have done this one myself though. The repair shop told me it was unfixable. If they can't fix it then how can I? However, the parts from The Clay Way are built to make this super easy, there are a number of videos that run you through the process and the ability to text, share pictures, ask questions, etc. made things pretty easy. I did the job with in my driveway with the front of the car on ramps and just some wheel chocks in the back and a jack on the center rear with just enough support to not lift the back but keep it steady. For sure it was a lot of work, but it saved us from having to figure out to do with a car we owe money on that the shops were saying was pretty much scrap even though everything else on it is super nice and reliable. Thanks so much. I can't express how appreciative we are of the work you do and the help you provide.

Hi Clay! I did the bracket install this weekend. Everything went exactly as you said it would. Funny enough that body clunk I had in my rear passenger side was 100% that rusted out box! While we had it on the lift, we did suspension and hubs on all 4 corners. So hopefully your fix will get me a few more years on the car, would have sucked to scrap it with only 143k miles. If the other side fails I'll definitely be back for another bracket!

Hi Clay, excellent job fabricating those boxes . I just wanted to mention that the rear boxes are available from GM but not the front one’s, they are discontinued .

I replaced both brackets on one side of my 2012 Equinox trailing arm using Clay's modified brackets. It is some work. For me probably took 6 hours in all not really knowing what I was doing, but Clay was very helpful with texts, pictures, and phone calls back and forth. The new brackets will probably last longer than the car!

Ok so how does one prevent rust out in the first place. What do you recommend for preventive maintenance on this trailing arm area? I used a paint brush with bar oil mine had a coating of rust still solid though. maybe oil it couple times a year stick a hose n sprinkler under the rear end lol
