A Look At Windows 8: Review, Tips, Tricks

I would love to hear your reasoning behind your statement. Not attacking you or anything just interested. The only thing that people may hate is the 'tiled' format but it is a step up. Windows 7 may be a good OS but it had problems not evident in Windows 8. If you don't like the tiles, download Start 8, you can see what it does in my Top 5 apps video.

It really is. It has nice quick transitions, the only time you'll be stuck with a loading screen is more than likely on the Store when it's loading all the new apps.

Trust me, it's a really good OS, and if you hate the tiles, don't use them, like you saw in the Video you can just use the Windows 7 layout with the Windows 8 Search bar. I have Had Windows 8 for about 24 hours now, not once has a program crashed, stop responding or slowed down.

Windows 8 is a great OS, but there is heavy conflict between the two environments. I found the worst part of Windows 8 was searching for a file path or a file name. It became an issue because unlike Win7 Start's search, Win8 looks only for a program or file that's usually an executable. I'm back on Win7 for my desktop because Win8 is still being developed and has kinks here and there.

I don't know where you heard that but it's really silly. Windows 8 does not restrict anything from being installed.

well I think the one who told you does hate Win8 since Win8 is a step forward not backward, so I donot think they will restrict any app or program

I like Windows 8, but probably for just a laptop or something. Tried it out at best buy, so... Fluid.

lol, dude. I don't mean to sound anal but the desktop on Windows 8 is exactly that. The desktop on Windows 8. It's still Windows 8. Windows 8 is the whole OS, not just the metro UI. :p

I heard that 18+ games aren't able to be installed but you have skyrim, is the installation round a bout or straightforward enough?

Any and every game that will run on Windows 7 will run on Windows 8.
