This part was definitely one of Yennifer's character defining moments. It showed that she loves Geralt and Ciri so much that she would break any principle she believes or once held to protect the ones she cares about. Which is quite admiral in a sense.
Also this is just me, but I 100% believe Yennifer was sniffing Copium when she said that ghost was not a feeling, sapient being. I genuinely believe she was just trying to justify her actions so she did not have to feel remorse. Which given that the game never truly gives you a definitive answer, I am sticking to.
