The Marvel universe created an entire fictional domain known as the "Kingdom of Wakanda" ruled by T'Challa the Black Panther. What if Wakanda was real though? How could we break down the core attributes of the country's domain, landscape, culture and diplomacy? In this video I try my best to break it down. What do you think? I saw it at a cinema in Mbarara, Uganda and the atmosphere was phenomenal. People were so excited that a Hollywood movie showed something with their people group in focus. Also the fact that it showed the location of Wakanda as somewhere near Uganda, seemed to make them very proud of their country. So great to see Africa getting some credit in the movie business. Thanks for the heads up, Barbs. Geography Now is the best!

Wakanda, as confirmed by the map in Civil War, is located between Uganda, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Kenya. AS for desert, you gotta ignore that and say that in MCU, it is green.

Also, their language is not just Bantu, but the movie used Xhosa, spoken in South Africa. So im guessing that it is a language closely related to Xhosa but got very separated, much like how Hungarian language is Finno-Ugric despite being in Central Europe.

4:28, "if they still hold the ties to ancient Egypt" THANK YOU. The Cushitic language structure is very similar to the Ancient Egyptian, like 15-20% of our language has the same words and root words in Ancient Egyptian. The rest being 25-35% Arabic, and 50-60% pure Cushitic.
