Paul Reed Smith seems like a really down-to-earth approachable guy. I've seen a number of his interviews now and in everyone of them he is such a nice and humble guy who is just passionate about guitar.

I met Paul last year. He is a very passionate about what he does. I think he has such a great philosophy and approach to what he does and on top of that he is a really nice guy.

Each guitar does make you play different. Totally agree with PRS. That said, it means that any decent guitar is an awesome guitar, with its own character. Excellent talk.

<sigh> I don't want to wait for two and three! This is a meaty interview. Right AND left brain parents. Norwegian Wood. Acoustical design theory. Good stuff. Thank you for this interview. Oh, and my first guitar was a nylon-stringed classical style that my mother got for me with $30 worth of green stamps. <grin>

As a profession songwriter I beg to differ with you PRS about H1105 Stellar Guitar. The model 931 Stellar made by Harmony which I still use today, is and was a great little guitar. The guitars top back and sides were built with solid birch. Even Bob Dylan had one and is said to have been used on  the Basement Tapes also played by Robbie Robertson an old member of Dylan's  band called the Hawks. It did have a D'Armond sound hole pickup however for recording, mine employs a D'Armond 210.

All I hear is string... When the strings go dead, so do this guitar. The sign of a not-too-good build. If you lock the back and sides, then it doesn't matter what the hell woods you use - unless you have disposable income.

Paul looked at Torres' gut-string guitar and tried to emulate that with steel string. Anyone who understands why a Spanish guitar is built the way it is and a steel string would know why Paul's reasoning is flawed.

It's too bad Paul Reed Smith doesn't give a damn about left-handed players. I'll never be able to play one.

oh god he did that forearm thing again to try and shut down the guitar. that's not how you shut a guitar up
