Richard Hammond reunites with the last car he drove on Top Gear

Richard Hammond rescued this little MG from his final episode of Top Gear, and has since set about turning it into The Smallest Cog's racecar. He hasn't actually driven it since that transformation however, so the car was trailered to Llandow circuit in Wales for Richard to finally have a go.

In 2009 my sister and her boyfriend passed away in a tragic accident at 20 and 21. I found Jeremy, James, and Richard around a year after the accident at time where I needed to be reminded how to laugh again. That being said, it will be too difficult for me to watch the last episode until my heart is ready. Thank you for what you three have done for me, my walk, and as well as so many others.

Again, thank you for everything and I’ll pray for a happy retirement.

I admire that hammond doesn’t think “oh I’m a celebrity I know my business is going to do well”. You can see he genuinely wants the best for the team that he has and appreciates if it wasn’t for them he wouldn’t have the business he does

i think alot of us can say we are alot like hammond, when young (some of us as kids) we watched this great man in his 30s an seing him be completly mad and slowy mature into a mid aged fun bloke and us have grown up and become the same, top gear and grand tour has and always will be my go to for a night in if i wanna watch blokes be fun :)

I've watched TG since i was 12. It was always the highlight of any weekend. I just hope with JC's success with the farming he doesn't leave the others behind. They are a great trio and I can see the impact the change will have on Hammond and May. Clarkson owes them a lot, he cant forget that.

Richard will always be the fastest because when you crash halfway around a lap it means that lap only took half the time.
