Improved DIY PVC Tank Overflow

I just upgraded mine. I was surprised at how simple it worked and how much more drain flow I have. It's stealing flow from my overflow box. I'm going to upgrade my pump next week.

I found it was easier to just PVC glue the outer pipe to the side of the drain pipe.
Yes its not centered but it doesn't make a difference to the work ability of the overflow.

Can I get help on the measurements for the pvc's? i have a 75 gallon tank. need advice, any help can do.

Wouldn't it work just as well to use Joey's version and just add a weight at the bottom to the keep the weir pipe from floating up? Something like a flat rock or a bag of sand.

just cut suction tube at very sharp angle and no changes to original setup....

Just drop the outer pipe to the bottom, end cap it let the overflow hang on the top edge of tank, solved.
