Two cases per ten thousand people. 2 out of 10,000. I believe that the numbers make the idea clearer. And a 50% chance of inheriting it. Half of it. You can fall into the unlucky 50%, and this disease will shape your entire life. Your choices. Your health. You will think about it every day. You will wonder, 'What if things had gone differently?' And if you want a child. You will feel haunted by a cruel fate. 2 out of 10,000, and you are one of those two. What bad luck.

Or you can fall into the lucky 50%. And then, rarely will you stop to think about how privileged you have been. That you haven't developed this disease. That every single day is a gift. Because you can see well. Because your heart keeps beating. And when you hear about rare diseases, you won't feel particularly involved since it has affected your loved ones, but not you. And you are preoccupied with other things. With many other problems, but not your own, you don't think about it. Except absentmindedly. Occasionally. Just like right now.
