OMG. Dad owned one the same but a 245 with a red interior. I was in my early teens when he bought it new from Austral Motors in Toowoomba. Nice example right there.

What a nice surprise first thing in the morning this was. I had a VK 265 auto in red, brown dash, and cream interior. Loved it.

Iv'e got my dad's old '71 VH Ranger (NZ), It's a 245, auto, front disc's, adjustable mirror, Chartreuse green, was bought new for the town clerk to use, town clerks being what they are, he would have wanted something new a year later, so it was passed on to the head man at the council buses, then it became a run about parts getter for the bus mechanics etc, then in 1980 they put it up for tender, and my father who worked in the bus depot office got it for $1750 ( turned out he was the only one that put in an offer) it was in great condition , always serviced well, Dad drove it until 1997, he was starting to struggle a bit with the Manual steering and brakes, and he took a liking to my '84 Cressida, and asked me if I'd like to swap cars ?, of course I bloody would . So he's gone, but the VH is still with me, good old Dad.

Looks good, sounds crisp. I'd give my right Testicle for that. Mint!

This dude facinates me with his obvious love for all things Valiants..the VH Models had much better Rust treatments unlike the later series..I'd like to check out the Cars one day...

As another commenter says leave it alone. That's a precious specimen and that 215 sounds fab with it's obvious headers fitted.
Why is it all about power?
Stick those bits into a restoration, not this time capsule.

i reckon the back end is still one of the best i have ever seen on a car.

Geesh, 215 manual with drums, unheard of in NZ to my knowledge, at least I've never seen or heard of any, ever. Real pretty example, seems a shame to butcher it but I guess that's the buyers privilege.

No! Don't do it!! Keep it original please!!! It is a time capsule. There are too few left that way.
