Seven Sewing Seam Finishes for Beginners

I pulled together a few seam finishes I found useful as a beginner sewist. I have used all of them especially when it same to finishing seams in lined and unlined jackets.

1. Zigzag
2. Trim and Zigzag
3. Stitched and Pinked
4. Hand Overcast
5. Fold and Stitch
6. Bias Bound
7. Hong Kong

Warning...my hand overcast seam finish is wonky and busted. I hope you grasp the basics of the seam finish. That finish is for think fabric is tight spaces.

Bias tape and Hong Kong are my favs but I'm lazy so I use the pinking shears 😆. I will give the bias tape a try though
