PyCon 2018 Vlog 08 – Python 3 Microcontroller Demo (Adafruit / CircuitPy)

In this video we're going to take a look at a tiny little microcontroller produced by Adafruit that actually runs a variant of Python 3 via the MicroPython / CircuitPy interpeter.

Note: When I recorded the video I wasn't aware that CircuitPy was Adafruit's fork of the MicroPython. So I guess it's fair to say that this thing runs MicroPython, albeit a tailored version.

Hi Dan,
Great video, and love those MicroPython systems. I Kickstarter supported the WiPi a few years ago (a similar device). I'll have to think about writing an article about controlling stuff with this kind of device as I was a process control engineer "back in the day".

Tony Dicola of Adafruit has made a couple of video series for both Micropython and Circuitpython.
This is especially powerful stuff when used with dev boards that have chips such as the ESP8266/ESP32 which have built-in wifi.
Check out also the Pyboard by the Micropython foundation.
...and yeah, it is great fun : )
