The butcher knives that chefs use I thought were called like meat cleavers or something. I think that's so? Nice drawing btw.

I remember watching this as a kid and looking at how he did perspective and now I know I was looking at it completely wrong now as a professional artist I have a replica of my own characters in this drawing and it’s always a nice little reminder on how far I’ve come

Rectangular shaped blades used by chefs, cooks and, butchers to chop meat are called cleavers. Now I'm getting an idea of a gourmet knight who slays evil dishes with a magic meat cleaver.

Dang, I remember watching this as a kid when it was only out for a week… here we are today and I’m a professional artist now :D

I will say that this video didn’t push me in the right places to become a pro, but I did have a lot of fun drawing and reiterating that character in the foreground. His coolness stuck with me for quite some time (and I still have my first “proper” sketchbook all of the way from 2013 with a drawing of him; I drew on loose printer paper before that).

If you’re someone who likes to draw and you’re wondering where to go next (whether it’s to become a pro or just as a hobby), I definitely suggest looking at channels like Bobby Chiu, Proko, or Trent Kaniuga. All of these people are professionals with very rich content that will surely get you to the next level you’re aiming for and beyond. Happy art-ing, y’all

one important tip: THUMBNAIL SKETCHES

Before you go into drawing the full scene, draw some small rectangles and make a couple of throwaway images in them to get the main idea of what you want to draw (the pose, the composition, and the framing) onto paper.

This'll save A LOT OF TIME and ensure that you're drawing exactly what you want to draw.

Also me: *Thinking it will be a good drawing*
Also me: *Draws the real character*

this is incredible. I use to draw when i was younger and as a grew up I just slowly stopped drawing. Watching this and other drawing videos really is making me want to get back into it. This fight scene came out amazing.
