I like both versions - this and Zephyr mix. Butch’s version is easier to accept. This album’s version is much deeper, heavier and more depressive and tragic, while Zephyr mix is light and more sad.
The official video along with the album’s version of the song is very hard to watch, it something like a warning of all the tragedy hanging above each member of the band in that period, all is in this sound and on their faces.
Btw, love Alan playing drums, he looks adorable.

This is Depeche Mode’s greatest song and is recognised as such by many fans. I agree with those who regard the album version as definitive. It is the ultimate “deep cut” in a way. The narrative element means the song is better suited to being an album track than a single. In Your Room explores the dynamics of a one-sided relationship. The person with the power has no need to put anything into words, even assuming they are listening. But we can still enjoy their silence.

This has been my all time favorite song for over 20 years now! Song has a lot or personal meaning which ties into being my favorite song! Depeche Mode is an amazing group!
