The sky is cryin....Can't you see the tears roll down the street
I've been looking for my baby
And I wonder where can she be
I saw my baby early one morning....She was walking on down the street
I saw my baby early this morning....She was walking on down the street
You know it hurt me, hurt me so bad
It made my poor heart skip a beat
I've got a real real real real bad feelin
That my baby she don't love me no more
I've got a real real bad feelin that my baby don't love me no more
You know the sky, the sky's been cryin
Can you see the tears roll down my nose

"The Sky Is Crying" is a song that has become a blues standard. It was written and recorded by Elmore James in 1959

Don’s Tunes is about the music. It’s about the sound. It’s about the real thing.

It's 11 o'clock in the evening, my children are asleep, I prefer whiskey to cigars and I'm enjoying this moment in a country as difficult as Haiti, thank you Don.

If you're listening to this type of music even if you're still young that's mean you have a wonderful taste of music, have a good day.

Well, I lost my father in 2021 and one day I couldn’t sleep and I went to the kitchen and put some old daddy’s whisky to drink wishing that could help me to sleep… I went to the living room and put this song to play on the sound and sit on the balcony. A few minutes later started to rain and this music was playing while I was drinking a whisky.
It was amazing and washed my soul.
Thank you guys! Love from Brazil.

Edit: I never expected to receive so many support, likes and comments. Thank you everybody for the kindness and support!

I’m a 22 year old Russian guy, I have never been in USA but, i literally can feel that Smokey downtown bar with slightly dimmed light. It’s like I have a broken heart, sitting alone, sipping whisky, thinking about her. Majestic and at the same time quite sad.
Thanks for that incredible music Don

First time listening to this 11:30 pm. Having a beer. The night before I move out a studio I’m renting with my wife.
God speed to everyone’s different journey in life.

52 year old Turkish man writing this comment at the beach near my home, listening to this beauty. Sunny May day. Not boiling hot. Water is BLUEST. Sky is clear.
A few early season dippers and swimmers.
Greek Island of Lesbos on the horizon opposite. Maybe someone is listening to blues or even this song at this moment over there too . Who knows :)

24 years old Mexican American from Los Angeles. When I’m not listening to my Mexican music, I’m listening to soul, & blues from early 1900’s to 1990’s. You don’t get real music like this in English anymore.

I’m a 25 year old white boy living in a loft overlooking downtown Jackson Mississippi. The Capitol of Soul. Having a family business in the area since 1937 I’ve grown up with a different culture that many of my friends will never know. My fathers been fighting cancer for 3 years and tonight we got the news it came back and he’s not going to be here much longer. I got my drank and my smoke and I’m sitting here by my window singing my blues away. The music lives through us all ❤️ May God bless those going through a struggle with the vibe of this song. 🎼 let them blues float away baby!

I met B.B.Coleman a few years before he died, in Center, Texas.I had just came off of tour with my godfather, Blues Boy Willie and he asked me if I wanted to go to Center with him to check on B.B because he wasn't in the best of health at the time. This was just before B.B.Coleman lost one of his legs, I think, to diabetes.Man, he had a little travel trailer he was working out of.We walked through the door and all I saw was records and tapes and cd's and computer discs everywhere!I was like, Wow!Really, really good man.I was only 22-24 years old then so I was completely blown away, man!I've always admired Mr.Coleman and everything he achieved in his lifetime. His production style is off the chain and I've always strove for that quality in my own work.Right now, I'm in the middle of Blues Boy Willies 11th album and I hope I can give it the love and care B.B.Coleman has given to William's previous work.William and I always talk about how we're losing all of our bluesmen and soul singers, and have no one to step up to carry the torch into the future and preserve this precious heritage we have been so abundantly blessed with. So, I'm asking everyone who read this comment to please, please, please support our blues and soul artists and musicians by going out to see their shows and buying their products:Cd's, t-shirts, ect., and bring your children and grand children.Hopefully they will be inspired, as I was, as a little kid, to pick up the torch and run their hearts out with it.
