Hello guys! I decided to make an information video about some sub genres of Psychedelic Trance. I picked the 8 most known sub genres.
I have an explanation for each genre and a few tracks with that. To fill the view I have selected matching videos. of course you can also just enjoy the clips, and go in that flow :)

There's something in my brain, a shortcut, or a preferential lane, or I just don't know how to call it, maybe a marquetry painstakingly worked out within my synapses throughtout over 20 years, that makes me instinctively smile, headbang, grin teeth , fall prey of one million memories and leave whatever else I'm doing when THOSE basses start following THIS tempo over THOSE bpm's .If you are whatching this video maybe you know what I'm talking about. Thank you for the attention.

Interesting video. The more I got into psytrance the more I started to wonder what goa actually was. It's interesting how psytrance is changing over time, even going back a few years the sound is very different, so it makes sense to think about goa as an earlier stage in the psytrance evolution.

I am so glad we have artists like Kheztal, Median Project, Filteria who still produce quality, melodic, organic, spiritual journey like Goa Trance music. Just so you know there are Artists like Asura, Suduaya, Bluetech, Koan, Solar Fields and Ultimae records who produce quality Psy downtempo/chill

This made me realize that I don't like specific genres.. I just like what I like.

I am been blessed to be around some of the artist mentioned in this video
Somehow being a neighbor of...
Some part time job in Acoustic construction for space like home stuidos
And i found myself hooked
The artists
The art
The strange noises that's move every part
Move everyone
The power of sound that's make a Tribe
The feeling of been a part
Of a such greatfull community
Which let's you be free
Which let you dance
As you please
For freedom
For love
For hard times
For better ones

Fun video, good to introducing the sound universe to newcomers. However I'd like to give some perspectives:
- "Psychill" has a long history and is much, much more than just "slowed down psytrance. An album like Subsurfing - Frozen Ants from 1994 has the dub and world music influence, while the pure psychedelic Ambient of Ishq and the likes has captured the acid-crowd since the late 90's. Dakini Recs pioneered an acoustic World music sound, Interchill Recs went deep into some kind of balance between the urban and cosmic and Ultimae Recs were quite early with a very slowed down trance 4x4 beat.
- I was missing Suomisaundi/Freeform Psy represented. These schools of Psy are super important to show upcoming artists "what Psy can be" so they don't fall into dogmatic traps. Psychedelic music should be explorative - the Suomi-people tend to be the most adventurous.
- "Mainstream Psy" is not Psy in any possible way. "Psy"-stands for Psychedelic, meaning "mind manifesting" music, visionary music, music to let your spirit fly. Often with psychedelic tools like LSD, psilocybin, mescaline or 2CB. The music presented as "Mainstream Psy" is the very antithesis of trance-inducing music. It's cocaine-music, or vodka-music - music that triggers the monkey brain and inflates the ego.
- I also missed "Tech-trance" or "Psy-tech" or whatever you want to call it. Some of the absolute biggest names within the scene since the earliest days have been balancing the "psy" with the "tech": Robert Leiner, X-Dream, The Delta, Spirallianz, Midimiliz, Koxbox, Son Kite etc.etc. Also a very popular "genre" these days, Zenon'esque, wouldn't have existed without above mentioned names.

Great video - I've been listening to the different types of goa and psytrance for years, but I never really knew what I was actually listening to. This helped a lot, thanks so much!

Oh man the scene has changed. I listened when I was a teen (my late aunt who went to a lot of EDM raves introduced me to goa trance and I instantly fell in love) and there was no mainstream, I wouldn't even recognize it as psy/goa traance. I stopped listening for a while, but Im getting back into it and I didn't even know about that banger Deep Jungle Walk track. The production quality is so goood.

Thank you for this! Prog, Goa and Full-on are my favourites, but my word I bet I could get some cleaning done to Hi-Tech! 😄😳

Just discovered psytrance this year and am in love with Hi-Tech and Dark Psy... recently heard a song that was very hi-tech but with a slower bpm that I'm trying to find, it was really good as well
