I find it weirdly endearing how he and the Lamb come across as friends and partners for the better part of the song. And even after the betrayal, it's implied the Lamb spares him.

The small details of this are SO good, and I love the story it tells.
How the lamb and TOWW are completely separate voices at first, and how "But if it's time to die.." implying the lamb understanding the inevitably of a person who's time has come.
Before they meet and parrot "Held/tied up by chains", a small difference suggesting the different views of the lamb and TOWW.
Followed by TOWW and the Lamb syncing up perfectly as they become equals in that the Lamb is acting as a follower of his gods will.
Before he starts deviating.. "I'm having so much fun" and "I'm making friends" showing off the lambs more friendly, caring, innocent view of his actions rather than TOWW's more violent and vindictive views.
Then TOWW foreshadowing the Lambs rise to power by saying "YOU'RE the one they fear"
Before the Lamb PREEMPTIVELY beginning the next line, showing that while he's still doing TOWW's will, he's doing it of his own volition now, rather than to serve.
Before stopping at "know my name" and waiting for TOWW to finish before declaring we know HIS name. Even extending it for emphasis.

And finally, TOWW making his hidden intentions known to sacrifice the Lamb and return from death. (With the hidden extra of telling him to "embrace the end" which ironically, TOWW is doing the opposite of" Prompting the Lamb to rebel and, as he was in the beginning, separate himself from TOWW as the god of death itself, once again syncing up with TOWW as equals but this time not in servitude but to vye for the position of the god of death, with TOWW separating to condescend the lamb and refuse to accept thatit's his time, inadvertently surrendering his position of god of death by refusing it's natural cycle, before once again syncing up.
But this time they sync up as equals not as two gods vying for the position but, once again as a god and follower, but now with the roles reversed and

it's so good!

still love how even in the song lamb goes "wait I have all your powers and your weaker than me now..why do I have to die by your hand when I can just as easily protect everyone and become the new god?" which The One who Waits obviously mad states how you're gonna face a fate 10k times worse than death for going against him.

I find it clever how you've made the one who waits verses sound more heavy metal and rock 'n roll, while the lamb sounds more cute and whimsical.
As if the lamb became the very thing he swear to destroy in the end.

I've listened to this so many times, and I'm picking up on so many awesome details, I love it! My personal favorite right now is when they sing, "The world will know my name", the lamb starts singing it later than The One Who Waits, but he sings it for much longer...

Honestly, the lyrics are just incredible, how you can slowly see the lamb becoming more and more powerful and The One Who Waits becoming less powerful in contrast, like when The One Who Waits says, "You're the one they fear", he didn't realize that that meant that they didn't fear the One Who Waits nearly as much... It was truly starting to become, the Cult of the Lamb.
