Started using Sketch-Up a few months ago after 10 years out of school where I learned AutoCAD. Love your videos and always find what I need! Great instruction and demos

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. And yes, I thought you went a little fast, for me. But that's what the pause button is for. New to your channel and immediately discerned you're the best of the half-dozen other vids I've checked out. If this is lesson Essentials #30 then I look forward to catching up since your teaching is superior in contents and quality...I was joking re u going too fast - it's just right. Later I will inform you (and any other comments readers with interest) why this particular lesson using PhotoMatch is of such primary importance for my plans. 10 minutes ago I didn't even know it could be done. I'm so excited. Thanks again. --steve

Love it! Never realized this was an option, and it appears easier to do this than in Photoshop.

Good speed. Very helpful. I plan to use SketchUp, PlaceMaker, OpenStreetMap, my camera, and my Mavic Pro 2 to create a sketch of 5 locations that I want to model in a proposed railroad museum. The sketches would be used for the creation of marketing materials for fund raising and for modeling when construction of the museum railroad begins. Do you know anyone that has a similar applications that I might network with? We will model the early 20th century so that some current buildings will need to be edited out of the sketch and some new buildings that did not make the OpenStreetMap for our locations will beed to be added.

Can you use this program to create, for example, a 3-d image of a Halloween pumpkin where you have a face on one side and either nothing on the opposite side or, for example,

drawn-on hair effects or something like that?

Just found your channel and subbed immediately! Need to SketchUp Free and was wondering if a photo of terrain can also be used to create a model to manipulate? Thanks for the great info!

Hi there Justin, this is what I was looking for, great video. One question though, can I do this with the free version? When inserting an image I get two options, image and material. I don't have the "new matched photo option" could that be correct? Thanks M

Nice thanks for tutorial and pace was good. Question, what about the other side of the model? The photo shows two faces but if it is used in an interactive 3d environment say for example, Google Earth, what has to be done to render the unseen side of the barn?
