Aladdin (2019) - movie review

From Guy Richie comes a shot for shot remake of another Disney classic. This time starring a blue Will Smith and the pink Power Ranger. Here's the review for ALADDIN folks!

Such a strange choice in director. Guy Richie is known for gritty, edgy films, not lively, fanciful musicals for kids. This seems doomed from the start.

I defended Smith against the haters and I'm glad he's a good part of the movie.
Disappointed that the first-time stars don't shine more as this might make Disney use known actors only for every movie until the collapse of civlization.

I'm so wary about this movie. I LOVED the original, it's a classic. This just looks...meh. Jafar looks and acts horrible...and Aladdin seems bland and lame AF.

I'm so glad I found a review that expresses my own concerns. Everytime I go online I simply cannot understand why people love this so much. I'm pretty sure it my love for the original making me bias at some point, but everything about this movie seems bland. The songs included and I don't understand why people like them so much. Thankful for this review that reassured me that it's not just me! Feels nice to know that I'm not the crazy one.

I'll just go see endgame again, and honestly I'm just waiting for Godzilla to come out next, now that movie will stomp and kill Aladdin. I can't wait for the king of the monsters to rule next week. Anyone feel the same?

I just need to know dude, do they cop out with the Jafar scene at the end when he turns into a giant cobra? I hope to god this is in the 2019 remake 👌🏻

I just think Jafar is going to sink this movie, you need to have a strong and compelling villain to have a equally enjoyable and heroic protagonist.

It hurts a movie greatly if you have one without the other, I sensed this from the trailers.

That is why I held off pre ordering tickets for this because I felt this coming months ago.

I decided I would wait for the reviews as I am very on the fence with this film which is unusual considering I loved the original animated Aladdin.

This review only confirms my fears and likely makes this a “watch it on Disney + someday” type of film.

This truly saddens 😞 me as I really wanted to this film to be good and see it on the big screen but likely will save my money this time for other more worthy films.

Disney needs to cast these remakes better and try to make the villains as compelling in the remake as they were in the original animated film version.

(FYI to Disney : Please don’t ruin Scar for me, Jeromy Irons did such a outstanding job in the Lion King, don’t suck the life out of him like you have apparently done to Jafar! Please Disney, Please 👏)

Never was a fan of this remake. Never wanted to see a disney classic remake. Because, why fix something that is not broken? It was already a classic. Why can't they just leave it be. Too many great memories ruined thanks guy ritchie. Thanks walt disney. I do hope they didn't ruined lion king too.
