What sets apart the CipherLab 1861 is the extended RFID read and write capabilities through a Bluetooth transponder. While it works as a standalone device, it can also act as an add-on to an existing CipherLab mobile computer, including the CipherLab 9600 Series and the CipherLab CP50 Series with an optional mount. It can scan RFID tags from up to 3.3 feet away, but you'll have to get a little closer to edit data, with a maximum distance of 1.6 feet. The 1861 is one of the most durable RFID scanners on the market, with an IP64 rating and the ability to withstand multiple drops onto concrete from up to 5 feet.
