Making A Beat: Hip Hop/Soul, (Like KAYTRANADA) In Logic Pro X

preview_player
Показать описание

In this video we look at making a Hip Hop beat. We focus on layering drums to create a large sounding drum beat. We detail two different methods in which we can use to change the tempo of imported samples/audio files. Finally I reveal some of my favourite stock Logic Pro X sounds that I like to use for this genre.

You are a great teacher, Stefan. I learned so much today. I've always wondered how to use the time stretching properly and you showed how simple it is. The slicing too. I didn't know about the Ultrabeat trick and I'd never thought about layering drums with different drum programs (I have quite a few drum VIs) Even the dragging something out of a prepared track stack is a good idea. Obviously I've done the opposite. Very, very helpful video. Thanks. And now I'm going to check out Distrokid!

To change the tempo, you could just place the sample at the 1, hold option and drag the end to the next bar. That will retime it much quicker

Stef, you're stepping up your game Bruv. This beat sounds dope even at 120bpm. Keep it up

I love this style of beats and I'm super glad stepped outside of the usual "trap box" (which I also love). It would be so awesome if you did more Neo soul and r&b style tutorials; like trying to create a river tiber type beat or a Daniel caesar type beat. Keep up the great work!
