The voting age was 21 until after the Vietnam War. Then they lowered it to 18 because that was the draft age... you'll still hear this excuse. The drinking age was 21 too, then they lowered it to 18 in my state. After one year of gruesome car accidents, kids wrapped around trees and stuff, the state put it back to 21. But they left the voting age at 18. Our brains are not fully developed until age 25.
