In this video, I answer a question that I get all the time. Students pass the CISA exam and are surprised when they can't get an IT Audit job based on the knowledge they gained while studying for the exam.

Thank you Peju. You are a excellent teacher. I am happy to say thank God I have found a lady mentor I have been looking for :) I have viewed almost all your videos and look forward to taking one of the course to gain concrete knowledge on IT Auditing. I also wanted to find out if you give templates for job readiness. I am talking about work templates for work papers to see and know how to document testing results and the audit report as a whole. Are work paper templates going to be available for those who register and take the course like me? Thanks.

Hi! I'm wondering how the experience portion is tracked in order to be issued your official certification?

No recent college grad is an auditor, period, unless you're exceptional

Hello,
I have a non-IT background and yet I am interested to start a career in IT auditing. Am I eligible just to give the exam as I am ready to work and gain experience to validate the certificate?

Hi Peju,
I want to be a certified IT/IS Auditor i am seriously thinking about this i am not sure whether my credentials are enough to be certified or not can you please guide me?
1. I am a Bachelors in Computer Science and graduated in 2009/2010
2. Then i worked almost 2 years as a junior web developer
3. Then i moved to Germany and started my Master's degree (in Business informatics: Major Enterprise Applications). This is graduated in 2015 from Germany
4. Since October 2016 i am working as full-time Enterprise Information Management/Enterprise Content Management consultant and implementing EIM/ECM softwares for customers all over Europe and sometimes US.
5. I have done both technical and business consulting.
6. So in total (i have more than 8 years of experience including technical/development, EIM software implementations and etc etc. and also a Masters degree so in total my education is 18 years)
7. Now i am planning to start the CISA course and write exam by mid 2023 that's my personal goal
8. Currently I am starting with ITIL and ITSQB certifications as well which i will complete this year (just foundations)
9. looking at my credentials where do I stand can you please guide me. I am 35 years old now and i want to start this career before 40

thanks in advance
kind regards,
Mirza

Is cisa good for people from commerce background

This is not your fault, but this is a terrible way of getting people into the industry. Let's use your driver's license analogy. If I take and pass the CISA exam (written exam for a driver's license), I should be able to get a job, but as an apprentice/intern of some sort, and not be able to work in the field independently with it (like you can't drive with the permit without a licensed driver in the car with you). Once you reach a minimum required amount of hours, you should then have to take a professional version of the cert that is practical to validate the knowledge. This is how all certifications should be, but the way we think about new people getting into the field has to change for this to even become a reality.
