As a Nigerian, it's so refreshing to see objective coverage of my country's socioeconomic, political situation. It is undeniable that we face so many issues stemming from tribalism, economic mismanagement and corruption, especially due to our current ruling party. How we will get out of the current quagmire is beyond me. I am also glad to see someone who doesn't just say that our problems are due to colonialism or racism. Respect to you.

“High cost of living, state neglect and lack of security”
Why do these things sound uncomfortably familiar to me.

Nigeria is such a tragic tale, it has many of the things it needs to be the most successful country on the continent, yet like South Africa, its potential is squandered.

Fact check: Gowon did not 'fix' the Biafran War. He was an active participant and Commander in Chief. He signed away a portion of Nigerian land to Cameroon to create a food blockade that caused hunger and death in the 'Biafran' side. He waged war on civilians, encouraged massacres.

Nigerian here, I absolutely love the video. It is honest, accurate and not judgey. Nigeria is a terribly managed country and that is the source of its problems. Nigerians have a similar mentality to Americans, we might not be the best, but we are determined, energetic and vocal about our abilities and strengths, however, Nigeria has the worst people in the world managing it. I currently make more than both my parents, but In Dollar terms I make less than they did 3 years ago. It is a hilarious situation. Great video, I can't wait for the next one💪🏿

A country where senators earn roughly $20000 per month, while minimum wage is $25 per month. All university graduates are subjected to a one year government service (NYSC) were they earn the minimum wage of $25 per month. How is this different from slavery?

Worth noting, "Boko Haram" literally means "Western education is forbidden by Islamic Law." It's why they target schools generally and schools for girls specifically.

As a Nigerian, listening to someone talk about how much shit we’ve been through as a nation makes me very sad. Since the creation of Nigeria, this country has never known peace, it’s been one chaos to another 💔

*Botswana was such a good example of post-colonial economics.* I wish Africa followed in its example; we’d have had so much value brought to the world!

Thank you for this coverage. I have friends in Nigeria and most media doesn’t cover what’s going on there.
