Youre an absolute madman if you ever actually used the metronome feature on the old version

IS there a model number? How do we know we are buying the old or new?

Thank you for the video. I think the tape being left on long term might ruin the finish.

If I got this one I'd carve a 90 degree angled elk antler attachment to use the screw in the machine head so it would be low profile, yet beautiful to look at and so functional. I have the Peterson Stroboclip with the clip removed and the attaching swivel hinge secured directly in a hole (that was already there) in the upper shoulder next to the neck.
The plastic swivel hinge didn't allow a change from E to A (so registered E on both 6th and 5th strings), I tried a couple different things and settled on just making a more solid one out of antler and it worked AMAZING! The registration is clear between all the strings now for their respective notes and it works well with the custom antler bridge and tailpiece for my experiment with a 1982 Vantage VIS 2G acoustic (wreck) I bought at a pawnshop for $68.00. It's not a wreck anymore.
It's now my go to guitar till I make a classical (probably Spanish, I don't know yet) guitar. I watched a few videos of some masters making the best handcrafted guitars and noticed they use all the same tools I have for sculpture and carpentry! (with the exception of the molds and a few handcrafted hardwood clamps for those pesky hard to reach spots I had to make)
Decades of carving (everything) and woodworking skills directed at a new love... guitars!
Ahh... retirement!

This review really helps. I like the new tuner. But the old looks green and more bright in this video.

i hate the rubber buttons. you cant tell if youve turned it on and off and the reaction time takes longer. Just saw the tape part of the video, BRILLIANT!

This might be a stupid question, but I just got mine and cant figure out how to open it to get the stupid piece of plastic between the battery and contact out. This would also apply if I might AT SOME TIME need to change the battery. What's the fooking secret? And the ratchet to attach it? I feel like im about to break it. Any help appreciated.

Would the older tuner be able to tune to alternate tunings? I have the old one and I’m trying to figure it out

Guys can someone help me? My tuner is not detecting some strings

Good review but it still hard to select for me, so which one is better ? Which one is more quick ? I seen the new tuner is more ready to tune but not sure about that.

Hi Evan! Do you find such hardware tuner gadgets to be more precise and faster than smartphone app tuners? For example, I use app called insTuner

Thank you!

It seems the quality control on these things is not good. Mine is being returned, because it is:
1) INACCURATE. 90% of the display is taken up by the Note display, ie ABCDEFG. When you are miles away from the note, yes, you get coloured bars on either side. When you are close to the note, all you get is one blue bar on either side, with some blinking. Very hard to see HOW close you are to the target note.
2) SLOW. When changing from one note to another the display changes to and it sits there... for 5 or even 10 seconds, before it guesses the note you're playing.
3) DOESN'T WORK - often displays the wrong note, or fails to decide on a note, going back to its "----" display, for 5 secs, then maybe flashing the note up for 1 second, and then going back to for 5 or 10 seconds. When i tune low E down to a D, this tuner completely fails to find the note, just sits there on "----". Meanwhile, my Polytune tuner, right next to it, is telling me I'm dead on the D.
4) Just as hopeless on my nylon acoustic as on my electric.
