Skyrim SE Mods: Skyland Riften

Yeah, rather than making it look fake, off-colour, or just plain weird looking, this mod makes it look like a true woodworker has actually used QUALITY wood when crafting structures such as houses etc., and not the rotting, low quality wood that the vanilla provides. I like this.

These mod videos highlight for me just how much work goes into creating a cohesive set of graphics in a game. Art directors can't just say "make it look realistic" they have to balance realism, and even the brightness and contrast of multiple textures to ensure nothing looks out of place. For instance, @3:53 the deep color of the room and the brightness in the skin on the floor contrast some, but they contrast way too much with the newer mod to avoid standing out like a sore thumb. You'd need to get the guy working on the skins and rugs working with the girl creating the floor assets, and all to match with the walls, ceilings, and furniture, to ensure nothing looks excessively bright. What might look great in one room, may look horrible in another.

skyland have probably best textures on nexus.I am using pretty much everything from him.

Does Skyland improve the lighting in the Ragged Flagon, or is it just a trick of the eye due to better coloured textures..?

I do prefer the fresher wood (despite the lore) and the increased contrast in the exterior. The interiors, however, have almost no contrast in Skyland so I'm not a fan of that. I'm also noticing I liked the vanilla doors better and all the textures for the central docks. Still very nice overall.

So guys I have this great dilemma going on and I hoped you could help me to decide whether to go to SSE or Oldrim
I mean, regarding mods is it better to pick SSE or Oldrim?

so many textures for Riften and i am here waiting for someone to mod the broken bottle to make it more gloomy and interesting....
