STOP Expecting Henry Cavill To Be Christopher Reeve's Superman

Henry Cavill first debuted as Superman back in 2013. Since then, he has received a divisive response amongst fans and "fans" of the character. In this video we look at one common but uneccessary complaint.

Just like many, I grew up with Christopher Reeve as Superman. I love Christopher Reeve. But I also love Henry Cavill as Superman.

Honestly I love both. I believe that reeves superman shows hope and peace and someone that can be a leader but it isn't realistic. Henry cavill shows in my opinion the most realistic way that superman would actually be seen. Superman would actually be a controversial figure. People would really be worried if he someday snapped and that's why I love how batman thinks like that too and ready with a plan to defeat any of the justice league members if they turn bad one day.

Great content man...it's good to here someone call out this unwarranted bashing of Cavill's portrayal of superman. Reeve's superman worked back in 1978 but a lot has changed. I think Cavill's Superman embodies exactly what it would be like if such a being existed in modern society. People need to move on from Reeve's happy all american boyscout superman and give Cavill's portrayal a chance.

Reves’s superman had his father guide him from teenage hood to adulthood. Cavills superman discovered his real father at age 30 and little guidance and time with him because of Zod deleting his program. The rest was up sups he had learn on his own from then on .choice is the theme of all three movies this doesn’t just apply to sups but other characters like batman.

My main problem is that really Henry cavills superman isn't really superman. I know you addressed elements of the character are going to change over time, including core elements. And that is fine, but now the superman in MOS and BVS have made him soo dark and so different that the only thing that ties the actual character of superman and Henry cavills superman is the at he has a S and a cape. People compare him to Reeve because Reeve is the most accurate on screen version of the character to date, and people use him as an example of doing the character right. I don't want Henry cavill to be Christopher reeve, but a modern version of the original character is what is needed, (a God example would be the superman animated tv show back in early 2000s, he was pretty serious and contained those core elements of the character.)

Agreed. People who complain are probably not adults and Reeve's version wasnt like the comics i think, it gave people the wrong idea of the character.

I never had a problem with Henry Cavill as Superman. My only gripe is the suit he wore, especially in Man of Steel. The Design is good but I thought the colors looked so faded, with the exception of the cape which looked fine.

Superman the movie was my first blockbuster. I loved it big time still do but man of steel was epic! I openly cryed at the end, lol at home. He was out of control, he had to go. I like both movie's but latest one hit home for me. The fighting, Wow! Superman gets arse handed to him, BY A GIRL! Love that flick😅

Okay look everyone I have found out something that everyone needs to know about our Superman Christopher Reeve now a lot of might be thinking he's dead drop the subject but once you see what I am going to tell you then you you will believe in Superman on a real level we all know Henry Cavill has a Stunt double I have paid attention to the double very closely don't guys find it a bit weird how the double has the same mouth movement as Chris Reeve I mean look at the clip of man of Steel very carefully that is not Henry Cavill he is the stunt double watch him closely you will see that the double moved his head in such a way that lets us all know that Superman is not dead but very much alive he did not want us to think that death means that people forget about us or that they have stopped loving us no if you are those who have believed in people who faked their deaths it's for a good reason to those who don't believe in it please keep your oppions to yourself please stop trying to discourage other's from what they have left is Superman so please stop this insisting non belief that Superman is not alive or real just because you weren't allowed to believe in the impossible does not mean that it is not real give yourself a chance to see before ruining it for others people tried all the time to get to stop believing in the impossible when I am strong minded I believe in the impossible because something or someone else saved my life 44 yrs ago at my birth and I never had the chance to say thank you to who ever is the real Superman now my family has been taken away from me starting with my father then my daughter all I wanted was to be more than I am because I believe if I can do even with my suffering then you can too
