6 Things You Should Let Go of | Minimalist Mindset

in today's video, I want to share six beliefs and things I say no to as a minimalist. Because we are not talking about decluttering physical items, it is an area that takes more time and effort in my opinion but that has a huge impact on our life, happiness, and fulfillment.
These six things I am letting go of in order to live an even more intentional life are habits I have been implementing during the past years and I am still working on for the future.

Love love love what you shared about letting go of unrealistic expectations about your body, both about how it performs and how it looks. 💕

"my body deserves to get some movement"... simple statement and yet profound.

"If you are not paying that, someone else will." - what an eye-opening statement. I guess we all know intuitively, but wording it this way makes me realize how irresponsible I may have been. Thank you for the great words.

You always keep me thinking about assumptions I picked up unconsciously and help me remember what really matters to me uniquely. Many of your questions I have asked for decades and it’s so rich having community now to explore with even if it’s through the Internet. You seem like a gentle person who asks powerful questions and that’s why I keep watching. Thank you for all your work

I like how you acknowledge that we may not like our body but the best thing we can do is to put in the effort to support it. This was a much needed video! Thanks for sharing. And number is so important! We live in a society where we live for others that we end up forgetting ourselves

Loving our body is exactly the same, as hating it. Why? Because both mean you are separate from your body, therefore requiring a relationship with it. Best way is to merge with our body and try to fully inhabit it. Our essence lives inside our entire body, worthy to explore. Too many of us have a distorted view of ourselves as some egghead/brain thing lol We are not our brain or our thoughts. Start merging with your essence, your complete body. Disassociation from it (for example, loving/hating your body) can only bring unhappiness.

Love this. Too many people only speak on material or digital or financial minimalism. This was fresh and truly enjoyed watching.

Always a pleasure to see a new video of you.
You're so right about the opinions of others; it's a mirror of how they see the world.
Live and let live, is one of my favourite quotes :-)

yes I really relate to this and especially #5 is hard for me because I'm in a similar situation as you - still in the building phase of creating my business. It's hard to separate that from myself

This is exactly the kind of mindset I am trying to incorporate into my life! I love seeing more people from all over the world getting to the same conclusions after reconsidering what we want from life and what other expect from us. I'm in my late 20s, watching from the other side of the world (Chile in South America), and your thoughts and beliefs make so much sense even here. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

Hi Lia! I watch your videos for more than a year now and I would like to say that I admire your work because of your opinions and important topics you are talking about. Every week I look forward to a new video. I think you are an amazing person and you inspire me all the time. Thank you! (And your haircut is amazing as well as your style :D )

Hello Lia! Thank you for the video 🤗 in regards to moving my body I took a cleaning job in the bookshop I work in as an extra shift. To my surprise I found I cover 5k steps per cleaning shift as opposed to a few hundred in my bookseller role. I then cancelled my leisure centre membership ( I never went) . It made me realise that doing physical work can be really beneficial to our health . I think you would really like Rebecca Solnits book called ‘Wanderlust’ . It’s about what it means to be out walking in the world . We’re not meant to be sedentary, it’s not good for our bodies just like you say x

I think it's inspiring to choose what you really need in the closet and environment. It organizes the day to day and arranges that everything will be easier and comfortable, in the past I would do a lot of shopping and today I reduce and buy only what is needed...

Love the idea that it is much healthier to have a neutral relationship about our body. Deep thinking 🤔 video - We must try harder to be more intentional 👊🙏

You are right. You deserve to get movement, to go for a walk or to stretch, and you also deserve sleep. Long gone are the days of a twenty minute recess for school kids, and an hour after lunch, and then a fifteen minute rest at our desks with the lights off in the classroom. Now they have no recess, and the kids might not even go outside after lunch! They aren’t learning that moving your body is necessary, and it’s sad.

These were all such great ideas. I really needed some of these messages today, especially letting go of society’s goals for you. Thank you for being so inspirational. I always feel calmer and more focused after watching your videos.
