Outstanding performance. "Northland Folk", Opus 22, no. 4, composed 1872 for the conclusion of act 2 of B. Bjornson's historical play "Sigurd Jorsalfar". It's well crafted, attractive and perfectly suited for the play, but Grieg wrote in a letter 20 years later of his surprise at how popular it had become in Norway as a park concert piece - so much that whenever he was recognized on Bergen streets, even children would often embarrass him by bellowing their versions. Funny.

Et helt fantastisk stykke, er sjokkert over at det ikke er kjent i større grad i Norge.
