CONSISTENT GOLF SWING - What To Look At?

I get asked the question "what to look at" all of the time. So I decided to do a video explaining it. Once you know what to look at, you can develop a consistent golf swing.

You would this what to look at would be pretty obvious but it isn't. Based on your skill level you look at different things. Beginners just need to consistently make contact with the ball so what they look at versus what a pro would look at are two different things.

So watch this tip so you know what to look at then try to do this the next time you practice so you can develop a consistent golf swing.

Paul...a big thank you...cant wait for more videos. I shot 77 today. 10/18 GIR, plenty of good chips and puts...I've watched many of your videos and commented before. I'm 55, at the moment in physio for a fricking shoulder injury that wont go away...grrrr, , , I have slowed my swing waaaay down (I think :-) ), using, hip turn instead of arms....and can get thru a day with minimal wear and tear . Im hitting it straight and loooong! Thanks again. All the best. Everyone stay safe and great golf!!

Realized I was shifting my head forward too much on my downswing. Used this on the course yesterday, making sure I could see the back of the ball at impact and hit nearly all my iron shots flush! Looking forward to seeing you in your 3 day school in June to work on and dial in my swing with you

FOR THE LIFE OF ME I could not figure out how to get rid of the over the top hinge. I tried everything from the towel tricks to the head cover on the arm. As a former baseball player, every "pro" I got a lesson from told me that was just my swing. At some point I just gave in and played the nasty push hook slice that came with my terrible swing. Between the body rotation video, the hitting inside the ball video, and this one, my swing is completely different, my shots are straighter and sometimes even with a draw, and my scores are WAY down. THANK YOU!

Excellent advice as always. Keeping the eyes focused on the ball location after contact works for every club, even down to the putter. Folks may also discover, as I have, that remaining focused on the point of contact also improves tempo because it teaches patience. A half second delay to look up may not seem much like patience, but that split second of time makes all the difference in the world for consistent ball contact.

You're the greatest, Paul. My swing and game have improved tremendously in the few months I've been watching you. It's such a joy to finally UNDERSTAND the golf swing.

I'm still looking to buy one of your hats. Will you be selling them soon?

Played my best round of golf this year, last night. I'm working on a few things, but one BIG flaw lately, has been a fast and frankly, Sloppy take away. I slowed things right down and had a blast last night.
I finally got a little confidence back!
As for this tip, I would concentrate on a single ball dimple when I started training to keep my head down. Whatever it takes to keep your head down until lift off is the goal.
Thanks again for your tips coach, always appreciated ✌️

Great tips as always! I bought the bodyswing a couple months back after doing S&T for a couple years. I did fairly well with the swing where I had a few rounds in the 70s. However, I always felt a bit locked up (Paul's terminology) in the follow through and I stumbled upon Paul's swing through YouTube's algorithm recommendations. I am so glad I did. I am only on month 3 but I can already tell my swing is a lot more free in the follow through.

Before I got into Paul's tuition I was hitting my drives all over the place. The $100 I spent on The Body Swing course the best value golf investment I have ever made as it's very rare to lose a ball now. I am now so straight that my golfing buddies tease me and at the range I get spontaneous compliments. Thanks Paul - hitting fairway after fairway so much fun.
( Before a match I spend about 15 minutes revising 'The Four Positions from the Body Swing course. Best start to warm-up routine )

THANK YOU! This helped me drastically. Being a new golfer, it was amazing seeing the ball fly far and straight. For your new students, how much should one practice with one club before going to the next? Should I begin with 9 iron until I’m super consistent then go to an 8?

Hi Paul, the back of the ball tip and your grip is certainly helping my swing 👍

As you advised here, I concentrate on making sure that the club face is square to the target line at impact and that my swing path is on line with the target. This has really helped me with my accuracy and subconsciously helps me to swing relaxed and tension free.

Paul, excellent instruction: simple, practical, clear, useful - each and every time.

Good tips, but I’ve learned that it is also important to realize where you “naturally” make contact on the club face. Using foot powder I found that I almost always make contact near the heel when I look at the ball. I then started focusing on the grass about 3/4” inside the ball. Once I learned this trick I started making more consistent contact with the center of the club face. It is something that really changed my iron play.
