The best thing about omori to me is its like a fakeout within a fakeout. You go in expecting the standard “cutesy rpg but its secretly a horror game with jumpscares” setting but then that ALSO gets flipped on its head with an emotional storyline about loss and grief and the strength that friendship and love can have even in the darkest of times that WILL leave you in tears by the end. “You thought I was baiting you with a worm, but PSYCH its a homemade brownie!”

I never noticed this, listening to the song before, but here they use Ichiban, which I think literally translates to Number 1. Ichiban is usually used for like “you’re number one!”, so it being used in the song as “you are literally the most useless child in the whole world” is really, , , funny??? Hard-hitting?? I don’t know how to say it but you know what I mean. It’s super duper clever at least
