Hi! I want to buy one of them. Please tell me what is the best option. Thanks.

The FTM-400 also has Bluetooth capability - but requires an optional module to be installed. I like the FT2Dr and do not experience the high pitched sound you refer to Vital. Have had mine for a year now with not one issue. Love it.

Hello I wanted to ask a question, does Yaesu FT3D/2D broadcast on airband? I am interested to be used RPAS, thanks.

VW mode is NOT a digital data mode. Both DN and VW are digital voice modes. VW (Voice Wide) use a voice code of 4.4 kbps with error correction code of 2.8 kbps which is Digital Voice Systems, Inc’s AMBE+2™ Enhanced Full-Rate (7200 bps). DN (Digital Normal) uses a voice code of 2.45 kbps with error correction code of 1.15 kbps which is Digital Voice Systems, Inc’s AMBE+2™ Enhanced Half-Rate (3600 bps). DN mode then adds additional error correction codes so for either mode, the data rate to the FM modulator is identical. So VW mode sounds clearer but starts to breakup sooner in a weak signal condition while DN sounds more compressed but works better under weak signal conditions due to the additional error correction. Be sure to try the VW mode if you own a Fusion radio.

get your facts right ARRL, case of handheld is plastic not metal. Bluetooth headset is not for handheld radio, it is for the mobiles

What's the Yaesu part-number for the referenced FT2DR bluetooth headset? I didn't think FT2DR had a bluetooth transceiver of any sort. Tnx!

Ft2dr is crap. Outdated screen. High pitched sound on digital reception. 70 channels on scope instead of 200. Looks like yaesu built it from leftover parts.
