Bargain Store Solar Boat Part #11 The other boat on the lake

Spotted a handy sized toy boat in the bargain store so another solar boat project is on it's way. I have a few ideas I want to try so this will spread over several episodes. If you have been following this series you will know I am working on 2 boats at the same time. The yellow one was finished first and this one took a back seat.

Main components

Toy boat from the bargain store
Solar panel and motor from a fluttering butterfly garden ornament
Expanding foam filler
Bicycle spoke or similar item to extend the shaft
Soft metal for the rudder

Sharp knife

Generally my projects are for my grandchildren to enjoy. OK, I enjoy them too. If anybody else likes them, that is a bonus. I like to keep my work as simple and basic as possible so that it can be copied easily and improved by anybody who wants to try themselves. I recycle or repurpose items rather than buy new and when I do buy I like to keep it cheap.
