If the next episode is executed properly then these two episodes will probably go down as the best in all of Doctor Who history

"Isn't this going a little far?"

"Man, I just spent several billion years literally bare-fist punching a hole through reality to get here. We passed 'a little far' an eternity ago.!"

Just gutted they didn't play 'this is gallifrey' soundtrack when he spotted the city

It's so funny looking back and remembering how polarizing this episode was. It's like all the people who hated it and wanted a big expository, overbearing Gallifrey lore story wished on a monkey's paw and got the series 12 finale. I didn't appreciate at the time how smart a move it was to eschew all that and do an intimate, character-focused story instead. Hell Bent may not have been what I was expecting, but at least it made me feel something.

0:12 The Doctor's mother?
0:13 Capaldi in First's doctor TARDIS?
By the way Heaven Sent was mindblowing and Hell Bent seems even more better!

Can we address that one shot of Capaldi in what looks like one of the classic TARDIS interiors?! The round things?!!!

If 'the hybrid' is not 'half dalek' (like Capaldi said in the episode)then did Moffat just make the 'half-human on my mother's side' line from the TV Movie CANON!
O.o - I CAN'T EVEN...

0:13 Default Tardis Exterior from Name of the Doctor
0:14 Followed by a 60s Tardis interior.
Wow.

I think this is the best doctor who series we've ever had. I've loved every episode except the first two Ashildr ones. Absolutely smashing stuff.

There seems to be a woman with the Doctor in the Barn. Oh, how I do hope it's his mother (the lady from the End of Time episodes)!

Zagreus sits inside your head,
Zagreus lives among the dead,
Zagreus sees you in your bed,
And eats you when you're sleeping.

Zagreus at the end of days,
Zagreus lies all other ways,
Zagreus comes when time's a maze,
And all of history is weeping.

Zagreus taking time apart,
Zagreus fears the hero heart,
Zagreus seeks the final part,
The reward that he is reaping.

Zagreus sings when all is lost,
Zagreus takes all those he's crossed,
Zagreus wins and all it cost,
The hero's hearts he's keeping.

Zagreus seeks the hero's ship,
Zagreus needs the web to rip,
Zagreus sups time at a drip,
And life aside, he's sweeping.

Zagreus waits at the end of the world,
For Zagreus is the end of the world.

His time is the end of time,
And his moment time's undoing.

I personally want the Antiverse back.

Steven Moffat, congrats, you have written some great episodes before, but THIS, this has to be some of the GREATEST WORK YOU HAVE EVER DONE. There was a strong buildup to Heaven Sent and it LIVED UP TO IT COMPLETELY!

is anyone else excited to see the weeping angels?, there's a hint regarding them that davies dropped in the end of time(despite my dislike for that ep the hint was genius) and it may be made canon now

I myself was stunned by how good tonight's episode was. I was already excited and hopeful it would be good since it was the Doctor alone in his own personally designed hell. But the episode played so many clever little tricks and there were countless moments I loved. The Veil was a very creepy and intimidating monster, Peter Capaldi's performance was breathtaking, and the way he found his way to Gallifrey by constantly resetting the entire castle and going through it again was ingenious. And while I already knew Gallifrey would be back (thanks BBC, not like it was a massive spoiler) it was still lovely to see it. I actually found the episode much better on a second viewing, since I understood it a lot more. So excited for next week! Hopefully they can finish this spectacular season with a brilliant bang!

FINALLY the show is going to address the idea that the Weeping Angels are Time Lords (or are at least heavily associated to them somehow). There have been so many hints throughout the show, and this theory has been around at least since the end of the extended Season 4 back in 2009-2010. It takes over 5 years for storylines to pay off sometimes in Doctor Who...
