The first concert I went to was the Kinks in 1964 or 65 in Chicago when I was 12. It was Ray’s or Dave’s birthday and the Moody Blues were supposed to be on the bill but were denied visas. I’ve been a fan ever since. Great music but Ray’s lyrics are incredible. Happy birthday Mick whenever it was.

That was such a memorable event Paul. Both the tour and the show. And having Mick and Christian attend and celebrate with the audience was such an unexpected and delightful surprise. It really could have gone on all day and all of the night!

Absolutely fantastic. I recall reading that Mick was the more least understanding of the band members when it came to disagreements and once threw a drum symbol at, I believe, Ray Davis. He was an ex bricky or hod carrier if I remember clearly.

Three original members of the Kinks are still alive. Why can't they do what other heroes of the Sixties still can do? Only once more....
