Talk Less. Do More. | An experiment with setting intentions

When we have intentions or goals, it's natural to want to immediately tell our friends and family about those goals. But is it possible this is hindering us from achieving those goals? When we talk about our intentions to other people, our brain feels like it has accomplished something, and a little motivation is lost. I think the key is to always take a couple action steps before ever talking about it! Talk less. Do more.

the act of doing is by default telling others you are up to something. i found telling others when i am doing something big.. it helps because i don't want to look like a fool.. as my grandfather would say though.. "Silence is Golden" .. action is everything!

So true! You are a big inspiration for me as a creator who doesnt mind about the statistics and still acts like the channel would never have blowen up. I was planning to have a funding to travel silicon valley from finland to film young startup people there, but now it shows like there might not be a trip of that kind even coming at times like these. I feel i have kinda lied to myself and others when telling i am going to make this huge trip, but i guess that i have to start from somewhere littlebit tinier. Keep on going strong, you are really my idol!

I was talking to a friend about this the other day, he loosely quoted Friedrich Nietzsche. This is the full quote:

When you say it loud it kinda takes the magic away - you’re also inherently asking for someone to have a reaction to your idea. Which can be distracting. Especially if you haven’t executed yet.
It’s hard to keep it in but when you do - it’s always worth it. 👊🏼

I've never thought about it that way. When I have done so it was more for the acontibilty level where by speaking to a few people about it it was kind of a way to keep my feet to the fire to get it done instead of keeping it inside and never starting. But i like where your coming from and think there is something to that for sure. Thanks for sharing some awesome insight man!
